🎓Scholarship Opportunity you don’t want to miss! The Barbara Jordan Essay Competition was founded in 1995 as an event sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin to honor the legacy of Soror Barbara Jordan, a lawyer, educator, politician, and one of Texas’ most influential leaders of the 20th century. In 2001, Fort Worth Alumnae added the competition to our Youth Initiative as an opportunity to support the higher education goals of students in the city of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. 🍎💼🏆
✅Be a graduating senior from a school in our service area (Fort Worth, Benbrook, Crowley, Everman, Forest Hill, Mansfield and the County of Tarrant)
✅Plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college/university
✅Submit a completed application, with the requested supporting documents:

- High school transcript
- Two (2) signed letters of recommendation
- Typed essay 1,500-2,000 words
- Headshot Photo
- All release forms (virtual participation and media release forms)
